are appraisers and auctioneers whose practice is focused to serve Estate planning
professionals and private collectors in the Southeastern United States.
After 20 years with Sotheby's, we redirected our efforts to concentrate on preparing
Estate and insurance appraisals as well as conducting estate auctions containing
antique furniture, fine art, silver, porcelain, fine libraries, Oriental carpets,
and collections of specialized material on the internet. We maintain our network
of contacts with both international auction houses and a broad group of private dealers
in order to access the world's most knowledgeable experts.
Our full service practice encompasses initial consultation, complete inventories,
formal appraisal documents, and final asset conversion through the appropriate public
auction sale placement whether it be a live sale in New York, our online auctions,
or at the local auction level. We offer a unique, personalized approach to the Estate
settlement process. With 35 years working in the field, we have built a reputation
for integrity, high professional standards, and close working relationships with
Robert (Bob) V. Ruggiero, President of Ruggiero & Associates, graduated from
the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He owned and operated
an appraisal and auction firm in Fairfield County, Connecticut for 15 years before
becoming Sotheby’s Southeast Regional Director in Palm Beach, Florida. He has worked
with many important Estates including those of Henry Ford, Belle Linsky, and the
Kennedy Family. In 1995, Bob and his family moved to their farm in Western North
Carolina where he started Ruggiero & Associates and continues to work with Estate
professionals in the Southeastern United States.
Bob is a member of the Appraisers Association of America, the National Auctioneers
Association, and the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina. Additionally, he
is a well-known lecturer at Museums throughout the Southeast.
